ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying three types of shoulder replacement surgeries in people over 70 years old who have shoulder osteoarthritis, a condition that causes joint pain and stiffness. The three surgeries being compared are anatomic shoulder arthroplasty, hemiarthroplasty, and reverse shoulder arthroplasty. The main goal is to see which surgery leads to fewer follow-up operations and better shoulder function, especially looking at the health of the rotator cuff (a group of muscles and tendons around the shoulder) and how well the shoulder works after surgery.
If you are over 70 and have had one of these shoulder replacements because of arthritis (not due to injury or cancer), you might be eligible to join this study. Participants won’t need to change their current treatment but will have their shoulder’s progress monitored using specific tests and scores that measure pain and movement. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to help doctors understand which surgery works best for older adults to improve comfort and shoulder use.
