ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how well a breathing technique called "recruitment" works for patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) after surgery. OSA is a condition where breathing stops and starts during sleep, and people with OSA are more likely to have breathing problems after an operation. The recruitment maneuver is a way to help improve oxygen levels in the lungs. In this study, doctors will use a lung ultrasound—a painless scan that shows how well the lungs are working—to see if recruitment helps reduce lung complications after surgery.
Adults between 18 and 65 years old who have been diagnosed with OSA before surgery may be eligible to join the study, as long as they meet certain health criteria and agree to participate. Participants will have their anesthesia and surgery as planned, and after surgery, some will receive the recruitment technique while others will not. The study will compare how often lung problems happen in both groups and will also look at whether factors like age and gender make a difference. This trial is not yet recruiting patients, but it aims to find better ways to protect the lungs of people with OSA after surgery.
