ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how common exercise addiction is among people who regularly go to the gym and whether those with this addiction have more risks for injuries or heart-related problems. The study will compare two groups of adults who have been doing resistance training (like weightlifting) for at least six months: those who show signs of being addicted to exercise and those who do not. Researchers will check for issues like muscle or joint pain, use of substances that boost muscle growth, and factors that might increase the risk of heart problems.
To take part, you need to be 18 years or older, go to a fitness center, and work out at least three times a week. The study is open to all adults who are not professional athletes and do not have diagnosed mental health conditions. Participants will be asked to fill out questionnaires and share information about their exercise habits and health. This study is still in the planning stages and hasn’t started recruiting participants yet. The goal is to better understand how exercise addiction might affect people’s health so that safer exercise habits can be promoted.
