ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how smoking affects the speed and coordination of the legs in young adults. Researchers will compare two groups of people aged 18 to 25: those who smoke at least one cigarette a day for a year or more, and those who don’t smoke. The goal is to see if smoking changes how well someone can move quickly and coordinate their leg movements by testing their sprinting and motor skills in a controlled lab setting.
If you are between 18 and 25 years old, smoke regularly, and have a body weight within a healthy range, you might be able to take part. Participants should not have any serious health problems that affect walking, lung or heart conditions, or memory issues. During the study, you will be asked to perform simple physical tests to measure your leg speed and coordination. This study has not started recruiting yet, but it aims to help us understand how smoking might impact physical abilities in young adults.
