ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Empowering Narratives," is studying a type of therapy called Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) to help Ukrainian refugees in Norway who are struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. Many refugees have experienced difficult and traumatic events due to the war in Ukraine, and this therapy aims to reduce their symptoms by helping them safely tell their personal stories of trauma. The trial also includes training Ukrainian health workers in Norway to provide this therapy, so they can support others in their community.
To take part, you must be a Ukrainian refugee living in Norway who arrived after February 24, 2022, be at least 18 years old, and have symptoms of PTSD or related mental health issues. People currently receiving other trauma-focused therapy or who have certain severe mental health conditions are not eligible. Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires before treatment, right after, and six months later to see how they are doing. The therapy will be delivered by trained Ukrainian health professionals and supervised to ensure quality care. This study is currently recruiting and open to all genders. If you join, you can expect supportive care aimed at easing trauma-related symptoms and contributing to better mental health services for your community.
