ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at whether two natural supplements, curcumin and astaxanthin, can help keep triglyceride levels— a type of fat found in the blood—within a healthy range. High triglycerides can increase the risk of heart problems, so researchers want to see if taking one capsule a day of either supplement for six weeks can lower these levels compared to a placebo (a pill with no active ingredients). They will also check some blood markers related to low-level inflammation, which is connected to heart health.

Adults with moderately high triglyceride levels (between 140 and 250 mg/dL) may be eligible to join, as long as they don’t have certain conditions like uncontrolled diabetes, active liver disease, cancer, or inflammatory illnesses, and aren’t pregnant or breastfeeding. Participants will have their blood tested before starting and after six weeks of taking the supplement or placebo. This study hasn’t started recruiting yet, but if you qualify, it offers a way to see if these supplements might help manage triglycerides and inflammation safely.
