ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a special exercise program called Otago exercises, combined with a technique called systematic desensitization, can help improve balance, reduce the risk of falling, and lessen fear of falling in older adults who have had a stroke. The goal is to see if doing these exercises and relaxation methods together can make it easier and safer for stroke survivors to move around confidently.
The study is looking for men and women between 40 and 70 years old who have had a specific type of stroke (called sub-acute ischemic stroke) and can walk either on their own or with some help. Participants should be able to understand instructions well enough to follow the program, which is checked by a simple memory and thinking test. People who have serious joint problems, other neurological or mental health conditions, or severe vision or hearing issues won’t be able to join. If you take part, you will be guided through the exercises and relaxation techniques to see how they affect your balance and confidence over time. This study is still looking for participants who meet these criteria.
