ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to rebuild the esophagus after surgery to remove cancer. Usually, doctors use the stomach to create a new pathway for food, but this study focuses on using other parts of the body, like the colon or small intestine, instead. The goal is to collect information about how well these alternative methods work, how patients recover, and to find ways to improve future surgeries.
Patients who are 20 years or older and are planning to have esophagus removal surgery with reconstruction using something other than the stomach may be eligible to join. Participants will be asked to give their consent and complete study requirements, which mainly involve sharing their health information and recovery details. The study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to help doctors better understand and improve these less common surgical options for esophageal cancer patients.
