ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how a 24-week exercise program might help men with prostate cancer who are receiving a treatment called androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). ADT can cause side effects like muscle loss and fatigue, so the study is testing whether a supervised resistance training program (which involves guided strength exercises) is more effective than a home-based exercise plan with phone support. The goal is to see if these exercise approaches can improve physical strength, daily functioning, and overall well-being.

Men who have locally advanced or metastatic prostate cancer, are currently on ADT, and are being treated at the University Clinical Hospital "Virgen de la Arrixaca" in Spain may be eligible to join. Participants need to be adults who can safely perform the exercises and are willing to take part in the study. If they join, they will be randomly assigned to either the supervised exercise group or the home-based exercise group. Their progress will be assessed at the start, halfway through, and at the end of the 24 weeks to understand the benefits of each program. This study is important because it compares supervised and home exercise options to find the best way to support men’s health during prostate cancer treatment.
