ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at a new way to help school children in Nepal learn about rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease—illnesses that affect the heart and can be prevented if caught early. The researchers want to see if using fun and creative tools like coloring books, stories, videos, and interactive activities can improve children’s understanding of these diseases. The study will involve around 2,400 students in grades 6 to 9 from 24 public schools across different parts of Nepal.
If your child is in one of these schools and in the right grade, they might be invited to join. Participation is voluntary, and consent from parents or guardians is required. Children will be asked to complete a simple questionnaire before and after the activities to see how much they have learned. The study will also check for any signs of heart-related problems in the children. The goal is to find an engaging way to educate kids about these preventable diseases and possibly include these fun learning methods in schools across Nepal in the future.
