ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying valvular heart disease, a condition where the valves in the heart don’t work properly, which can affect how well the heart pumps blood. The researchers want to learn more about certain natural substances in the body, called metabolites, and how they might influence the development and progression of this heart valve disease. By studying these substances and following patients over time, the team hopes to find new ways to better understand and eventually treat the condition.
Adults aged 18 and older who have been diagnosed with any type of heart valve disease may be eligible to participate, regardless of gender. Participants can expect to have their health monitored over a long period, and samples of tissue may be tested to study the metabolites. The trial is not yet recruiting, and people who cannot give their informed consent would not be able to join. This study is important because current treatments mainly involve surgery or procedures, and finding new medical approaches could improve quality of life for many patients.
