ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a special type of wound therapy called Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) to see if it helps improve healing after a kidney transplant. When someone receives a new kidney through surgery, the area where the surgery is done needs to heal properly to avoid problems. This study is comparing two groups of patients: one group will get the usual wound care, and the other will receive NPWT, which uses gentle suction to help the wound heal.
The trial is open to adults who are having a kidney transplant. Children, people who need another surgery soon after the transplant, those allergic to the materials used in NPWT, or those receiving a specific type of transplant (called orthotopic) cannot join. If you take part, you will be randomly assigned to one of the two wound care methods after your surgery, and doctors will follow your healing progress. This study aims to find out if NPWT can reduce wound complications and help patients recover more comfortably after a kidney transplant.
