ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether using virtual reality (VR) can help reduce stress and pain in people with hyperthyroidism who need to have a fine needle biopsy—a small procedure where a thin needle is used to take a sample from the thyroid. The researchers want to see if wearing VR glasses during the biopsy can make the experience more comfortable by lowering pain, stress, and changes in vital signs like heart rate.
People between 18 and 80 years old who are scheduled for a thyroid biopsy and are able to wear VR glasses may be eligible to join. Participants should not have major mental health issues or problems with communication, vision, or hearing that would make using VR difficult. If you take part, you’ll wear VR glasses during the biopsy procedure, and the study team will monitor how you feel and check your vital signs. This study is not yet recruiting, but it aims to find new ways to help patients feel calmer and more comfortable during medical procedures.
