ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a program called Cuida2, which combines mindfulness and compassion exercises to help improve emotional and behavioral challenges, school performance, and the overall atmosphere at school for students in the last years of primary school (5th and 6th grade). Mindfulness means paying attention to the present moment in a calm and focused way, and compassion involves being kind and understanding toward oneself and others. The study will compare this program to another group practicing relaxation techniques, to see which approach works better.
Students, their families, and teachers will all share their thoughts and experiences before the program starts, right after it ends, and three months later to measure any changes. To take part, students need to be in 5th or 6th grade, understand Spanish, and have their parent or guardian’s permission. The study is not yet recruiting participants, but if you join, you can expect to be part of either the mindfulness and compassion program or the relaxation group, and provide feedback on how it affects emotions, behavior, school work, and the school environment. Participants can leave the study at any time if they choose.
