ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying people who have had hip surgery called hip arthroscopy and are still experiencing pain afterward. The goal is to see if the hips of those needing a second surgery (called a revision hip arthroscopy) look different on a special type of scan compared to those whose pain got better after the first surgery or those who manage pain with steroid injections. This could help doctors better understand why some people continue to have hip pain and how to treat it.

To take part, you must be between 18 and 45 years old, have had hip arthroscopy on one hip (not both), and still have pain rated at least 4 out of 10 for six months or more after your surgery. You should not have any serious health problems, infections, fractures, or mental health issues before your first surgery, and you should not be pregnant or using opioids for pain. Participants will have one imaging session using a PET/MRI scan, which is a safe way to take detailed pictures of the hip to study its condition. The study is not yet recruiting, but if you meet these criteria, this trial may be an option to help improve understanding and treatment of ongoing hip pain after surgery.
