ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is comparing two types of dental fillings used to treat moderate cavities between the back teeth (called Class II cavities). One filling is a common type called bulk fill resin composite, and the other is a material known as highly viscous glass ionomer cement (HVGIC). The study will see how well each filling works over a year by checking things like how well the filling fits, if it changes color, how strong it is, and if it causes any sensitivity or new cavities.
Adults aged 18 to 45 who have at least two similar cavities on opposite sides of their mouth and are generally healthy might be eligible to join. If you participate, you will receive both types of fillings—one on each side—so the dentists can directly compare them in the same mouth. You will have check-ups after one week, six months, and twelve months to see how the fillings are holding up. This study is important because it could help dentists choose the best, most comfortable, and cost-effective fillings for treating these kinds of cavities.
