ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether using aromatherapy with lavender and bergamot essential oils can help reduce anxiety and feelings of embarrassment in people who are about to have a colonoscopy, which is a procedure to check the inside of the large intestine. The researchers are also looking at whether aromatherapy affects vital signs like heart rate or blood pressure before the procedure. The goal is to find simple, natural ways to help patients feel calmer and more comfortable before their colonoscopy.
Adults over 18 who are scheduled for a colonoscopy and can understand the study instructions may be eligible to participate, as long as they do not have allergies to lavender or bergamot oils and agree to take part. If you join the study, you might experience aromatherapy before your colonoscopy to see if it helps ease your anxiety. This research is still recruiting participants and hopes to provide helpful information that nurses and doctors can use to support patients better during this sometimes stressful time.
