ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how mothers’ beliefs in common breastfeeding myths affect their motivation to breastfeed. Breastfeeding is very important for babies’ health, especially in the first six months, but some false ideas—like thinking the first milk (colostrum) is bad or that babies need water after every feeding—can make mothers less confident and stop breastfeeding earlier than recommended. This study wants to better understand how these beliefs and feelings about breastfeeding work together.
The study is open to women who have a baby between 0 and 6 months old and have breastfed their baby at least once. Participants will be asked to share their thoughts and experiences about breastfeeding, including any beliefs they may have heard and how motivated they feel to continue breastfeeding. This research can help improve support for mothers by addressing myths and boosting confidence. If a mother is exclusively formula-feeding, has health issues that make breastfeeding difficult, or has twins or more, she would not be eligible to join.
