ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at people with heart valve diseases, which affect the valves that help blood flow through the heart. Specifically, it focuses on patients with moderate to severe problems in the aortic, mitral, or tricuspid valves—the parts of the heart that can sometimes become narrowed or leaky. The goal is to understand how these conditions develop and are treated over time by reviewing heart ultrasound images and medical records collected over the past 10 years from hospitals across South Korea. This information will help doctors learn more about how often these diseases happen, how they progress, and the best ways to care for patients in real life.
Adults over 18 years old who had at least two heart ultrasound tests showing moderate or severe valve problems between 2010 and 2020 may be included in the study. People whose ultrasound images are unclear or who didn’t have regular follow-up visits won’t be part of the study. Since this is a review of past records, participants won’t need to visit the hospital or undergo new tests. This study is not yet recruiting patients, but it aims to provide valuable insights to improve future care for people with heart valve conditions.
