ClinConnect Summary

This study is looking at how a special type of hand treatment called thumb manipulation might affect hand strength, function, and feeling in healthy adults. Researchers plan to recruit 60 volunteers between the ages of 18 and 50, who do not have any hand or nerve problems, and split them into two groups. One group will receive thumb manipulation twice a week for four weeks, while the other group will not receive any treatment. The study will measure how well participants can grip, pinch, and use their hands, as well as how sensitive their thumbs are, to see if the treatment helps improve these abilities.

If you decide to join, you’ll be asked to come in for regular sessions over a month, and simple tests will be done to check your hand strength and sensation. To be eligible, you need to be between 18 and 50 years old, able to communicate clearly, and not have any conditions like past injuries, surgeries, or diseases that affect your arms or hands. This study is still in the planning stages and is not yet recruiting volunteers. The goal is to understand whether thumb manipulation can safely improve hand function in people without hand problems.
