ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is testing a program called Choose to Move Replacement Ready (CTM-RR), designed to help older adults in British Columbia who are waiting for hip or knee replacement surgery due to osteoarthritis, a common joint condition that causes pain and stiffness. The program lasts for three months and aims to encourage physical activity and improve overall health and well-being while people wait for their surgery. The study wants to find out if this program is practical to offer to these patients and whether it helps with things like pain, movement, mood, and feelings of loneliness.
People who may join this study are English-speaking adults aged 50 or older with hip or knee osteoarthritis who are on a surgical waitlist for joint replacement. Activity coaches who support the program and healthcare workers who refer patients to it may also take part. Participants will answer online surveys and take part in interviews about their experience with the program, including questions about their physical activity, pain, quality of life, and social connections. This study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to better understand how to support people waiting for joint surgery through this tailored program.
