ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how treating blockages in certain large blood vessels near the belly (called the aorto-iliac arteries) can affect blood pressure. Sometimes, these arteries become narrowed, making it harder for blood to flow and causing high blood pressure. Doctors often use tiny tubes called stents to open these blocked arteries. This study wants to see if placing stents in these specific arteries can lower blood pressure and reduce strain on the heart.
To join the study, participants need to be adults with a long-lasting blockage in the main artery below the kidneys or in one or both of the large arteries leading to the legs. They should have symptoms like severe leg pain or poor blood flow that hasn’t improved with exercise. People who can’t follow the study instructions or who have certain other artery problems won’t be eligible. Participants will receive stent treatment and will be followed to see how their blood pressure changes afterward. This study is just starting and aims to help doctors better understand how fixing these blockages might improve heart health.
