ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new, playful way to help reduce anxiety in people receiving palliative care—care given when a serious illness can’t be cured and the focus is on comfort and quality of life. The study uses a special educational game called SPAMLO-3.0, where players follow a virtual character named Vito as he learns about palliative care in different settings like hospitals, homes, and nursing homes. The game teaches important topics such as patient rights, support options, and how care is provided, all designed to help ease worries and provide useful information in a gentle, engaging way.
People who might join this study are adults aged 65 or older who are receiving palliative care, have no cognitive problems, and expect to live for more than one month. Participants need to have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet and be willing to play the game. The trial aims to see if playing this game can help lower anxiety without using medicines. It was created with input from volunteers experienced in end-of-life care, making sure it’s respectful and helpful. If you or a loved one fits these criteria and are interested, this trial could offer a new way to feel more supported during a difficult time.
