ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at whether sharing personal stories can help African American adults with high blood pressure (hypertension) make healthier lifestyle choices, take their medications more regularly, and ultimately lower their blood pressure. The study wants to see if storytelling is a helpful and practical way to support people managing this condition.
To take part, you need to be an African American or Black adult between the ages of 65 and 74, have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, and be currently taking medication for it. Participants should be able to speak and read English, not be pregnant, and plan to stay in the area during the study. If you join, you can expect to be part of a program where stories about managing high blood pressure are shared, aiming to encourage positive changes in health habits and medication use. This study is currently looking for volunteers to help understand if this approach could be a useful tool in managing hypertension.
