ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether it is safe and beneficial to induce labor (start the birth process) in women whose babies are in a breech position, meaning the baby is positioned feet or bottom first instead of head first. Usually, when a baby is breech at full term, doctors recommend a cesarean section (C-section) to deliver the baby, but this study wants to see if more women can safely try labor induction to avoid the risks that can come with C-sections for both mother and baby.
Women who might be eligible to join this study are those who are at least 34 weeks pregnant with a single baby in the breech position, are willing to try a vaginal delivery, and are adults. Women with twins, those under 34 weeks pregnant, or those who do not want a vaginal birth would not be included. Participants in the study can expect to be offered labor induction and will be closely monitored throughout labor to ensure the safety of both mother and baby. This research aims to provide more options for women with breech babies and improve outcomes by potentially reducing the need for cesarean deliveries.
