ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving HIV prevention services for young people aged 14 to 24 in Nigeria, especially those at higher risk of HIV infection. The study aims to test and support a program called “4 Youth by Youth” (4YBY), which helps young people access tools like HIV self-testing, prevention medication (called PrEP), and other health services that are friendly and easy for youth to use. The researchers want to find the best ways to keep this program running in local communities over time, making sure it reaches more young people who need it.
To join the study, participants must be between 14 and 24 years old, have had condomless sex recently, meet certain risk criteria for HIV (such as being a sex worker, having an HIV-positive partner, or engaging in transactional sex), have never used PrEP before, and test HIV-negative at the start. Participants will be asked to complete surveys and stay in contact with the study team for up to two years. The study will work closely with community groups to offer these services and learn how to make them last longer. This trial is not yet recruiting but aims to help more young people protect themselves from HIV in a way that fits their lives.
