ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how attending childbirth education classes with a spouse affects pregnant women’s experiences during pregnancy and childbirth. Researchers want to find out if women who go to these classes with their partners feel more supported, more satisfied with their birth experience, and remember their birth more positively compared to women who attend classes alone or receive regular care without classes. They are also interested in whether attending with a spouse influences the choices women make about their birth.
To take part, women need to be pregnant for the first time, between 30 and 32 weeks along, expecting just one baby, and able to speak and write Turkish. Women who have certain health or communication challenges, are carrying more than one baby, are overweight, divorced, or have lost a spouse won’t be eligible. Participants will attend childbirth classes, either alone or with their spouse, and complete surveys about their feelings of support, satisfaction, and memories of birth. This study aims to help improve childbirth education and support for mothers and families.
