ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of videos—like regular 2D videos, 360-degree videos, and 360-degree videos viewed through virtual reality (VR)—affect children and young adults before and after medical procedures. The researchers want to find out if one type of video helps reduce anxiety before a procedure and pain afterward more than the others. They are also exploring whether VR works better for certain types of procedures compared to others.
Children and young adults between the ages of 5 and 23 who understand and speak English, have access to a smartphone, and are scheduled for an upcoming medical procedure may be eligible to join. Participants will watch one of the video types to learn about their procedure and then share how it affected their anxiety and pain. This study could help improve how hospitals prepare kids for procedures, making the experience less stressful and painful.
