ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how accurate dry needling is when performed on certain deep muscles in the lower back. Dry needling is a treatment where thin needles are inserted into muscles to help relieve pain. In this study, doctors will try to target specific muscles in the lower back without seeing exactly where the needle goes, and then use ultrasound imaging (a safe scanning method) to check if the needle reached the right spot.
Adults between 18 and 65 years old who have general lower back pain or muscle pain in the back and are planning to have physical therapy may be eligible to join. Participants should be able to follow instructions and agree to the procedure. The study is not open to people who take blood thinners, have had spine surgery, have skin infections on the back, are pregnant, or have serious health conditions. If you take part, you can expect a dry needling treatment followed by an ultrasound scan to see how accurate the needle placement was. This study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to improve the safety and effectiveness of dry needling for back pain.
