ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a way to help prevent substance use—like drinking alcohol, smoking, or using drugs—in young people who may be at higher risk. It focuses on kids aged 11 to 14 who have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). These conditions can make it more likely for them to start using substances, so the study wants to see if watching short videos made by other local teens about not using drugs can help keep them from starting.
If you join the study, every three months you’ll watch a new video during a visit to your doctor’s office and then complete a short survey about your behavior, including whether you have started using any substances. If you have started using, the study will connect you with treatment to help. If not, you’ll watch another video and do the survey again three months later. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it’s open to boys and girls aged 11 to 14 who have depression, anxiety, or ADHD and have not started using substances yet.
