ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to manage pain medicine during back surgery in older adults. Specifically, it compares the usual method of giving opioids (strong painkillers) with a method guided by a special pain monitor that helps doctors adjust the medicine more precisely. The researchers want to see if using this monitor can reduce the amount of pain medicine needed, help patients wake up faster after surgery, and lower the risk of complications.
This study is for patients who are having lumbar stabilization surgery, which is a type of operation on the lower spine. People who use opioids regularly or have serious heart problems may not be able to join. If you take part, the medical team will carefully control the pain medicine you receive during surgery, either by the usual approach or by using the pain monitor to guide treatment. The study is not recruiting participants yet, but it is designed to help improve pain management and recovery for older adults undergoing this kind of surgery.
