ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new, less invasive method to rebuild the bone in the upper jaw where teeth are missing. This is important for people who want dental implants but don’t have enough bone to support them. The trial compares a gentle surgical technique called subperiosteal tunneling, which uses a special bone graft from animal sources and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to help healing, with the traditional, more invasive surgery.
Adults over 18 who are missing one or two back upper teeth and have a narrow jawbone (less than 5 mm wide) but enough height (at least 8 mm) may be eligible. Their gums also need to be healthy. People with certain health issues like uncontrolled diabetes, recent cancer treatments, ongoing gum disease, smoking habits, or pregnancy cannot join. If selected, participants will undergo the new surgical procedure aimed at safely increasing bone width to support implants. This trial is not yet recruiting, so interested individuals should watch for updates if they think this treatment might help them.
