ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called Healthy School Recognized Campus (HSRC), which aims to help schools in Texas promote healthy habits like regular physical activity and good nutrition among students. The study will look at how well the HSRC program works and how it can be best put into practice, especially with the support of a mentoring program. The goal is to find effective ways to encourage kids to be more active and eat healthier, which can help prevent heart-related health problems later in life.
Schools eligible to join the study are public schools located in Central and East Texas. Students who can participate are those in 4th through 9th grade who can read, speak, and write in English. However, students with certain physical or cognitive challenges that would make it hard for them to complete physical activities in the study won’t be eligible. If a student takes part, they can expect to be involved in activities and assessments related to physical fitness and nutrition, all within their school setting. The study is not yet recruiting participants but aims to include a diverse group of young people to better understand how to support healthy lifestyles in schools.
