ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a new pain relief method called percutaneous intercostal cryoneurolysis, which may help reduce pain after surgery to correct pectus excavatum—a condition where the chest bone is sunken in. The study aims to find out how quickly this treatment starts to work by checking how sensitive the skin on the chest is to light touch, cold, and heat in the days following the procedure.

People who are having this type of chest surgery and will receive the cryoneurolysis treatment before their operation may be eligible to join the study. Participants can expect regular physical exams to measure their skin’s response to different sensations after the treatment. This study is currently recruiting patients of all genders between the ages of about 12 and 40. If you are considering this surgery, this trial might help doctors better understand how soon the pain relief from this technique begins.
