ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at whether physical exercise, mental activities (called cognitive training), or a combination of both can help improve the strength, balance, thinking skills, and overall well-being of older adults living in care facilities. The study wants to find out if doing exercise alone, mental exercises alone, or both together can make a bigger difference in how well participants move, think, and feel. Researchers will compare these groups to a control group that doesn’t receive any special activities to see which approach works best.

Older adults who are 65 years or older, living in a care home for at least three months, and able to understand and agree to participate may be eligible for this study. People with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, acute illnesses, or those unable to take part in the exercises or tests won’t be included. Participants will join activities three times a week for 12 weeks and will be tested before starting, right after finishing, and again six months later. They will answer simple questions and do easy physical and mental tests to check for improvements in their health and daily life. This study aims to find ways to help older adults stay stronger, sharper, and more independent.
