ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how the financial challenges of cancer treatment, often called "financial toxicity," affect patients and their caregivers while they are in the hospital. Researchers want to understand how money worries impact the quality of life, emotional well-being, and the stress experienced by those caring for cancer patients. To do this, patients and their caregivers will answer some simple questionnaires about their health, feelings, and financial situation, like household income and treatment costs. The goal is to use this information to find better ways to support both patients and their families during cancer care.
Adults with confirmed solid tumors (a type of cancer in organs) who are currently staying in the hospital for treatment or supportive care may be eligible to join if they can read and speak Turkish and are able to answer the surveys. People who are very ill or unable to participate due to mental or physical reasons won’t be included. Participation won’t cost anything, and patients will be asked to give their permission before joining. This study will take place at three hospitals in Turkey between August 2025 and January 2026, and the findings could help improve care and support for cancer patients and their caregivers in the future.
