ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how preeclampsia—a condition that can cause high blood pressure during pregnancy—affects the health of blood vessels in women. Since preeclampsia can increase the risk of heart and blood vessel problems later in life, the study aims to find early signs of these changes using a new, simple eye test that looks at the tiny blood vessels in the back of the eye. This test does not involve any needles or surgery and could help doctors catch problems early so they can provide better care.
Women who are at least 18 years old and willing to have their blood vessels checked may be eligible to participate, as long as they do not have certain health conditions like diabetes, kidney disease, or eye diseases such as glaucoma. Participants will be asked to undergo non-invasive tests to assess their blood vessel health, including the eye exam. This study is currently recruiting, and those interested will need to give their informed consent before joining. The goal is to better understand how preeclampsia affects women's blood vessels and improve future treatments.
