ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to test for several viruses—HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and hepatitis D—among gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM), as well as transgender women living in Spain. The goal is to make it easier for people to check their health by using a simple at-home blood test kit that they can send in by mail. This approach aims to help find infections earlier and connect people quickly to the care or treatment they might need. The study also looks at how well this self-testing method works and whether people find it easy and acceptable to use.
If you are 18 or older, identify as a GBMSM or transgender woman, live in Spain, and are at risk for hepatitis C based on a short online questionnaire, you might be eligible to join. This includes people already using or waiting to start HIV prevention medication called PrEP, regardless of whether they have HIV or not. Participants will receive a kit with instructions and tools to collect a small blood sample at home, which they mail back for testing. Results will be shared online, and anyone with a positive result will be helped to get follow-up care. This study is important because it could offer a convenient way for people at higher risk to stay on top of their health and prevent serious illness.
