ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how drinking different types of milk—whole milk (which has more fat) versus skim milk (which has little to no fat)—affects heart health and blood sugar control. Since heart disease is a leading cause of death, understanding whether the fat in milk changes risks like cholesterol levels or insulin resistance (how well your body handles sugar) could help guide better dietary advice. The study will have participants switch between drinking whole milk and skim milk while tracking changes in their blood fats and sugar levels.
To join, you need to be 18 or older, drink at least one cup of dairy milk most days, and have a smartphone to use the study’s app. People who are lactose intolerant, have had a heart attack or diabetes, or have certain cholesterol conditions won’t be able to join. If you participate, you’ll be asked to drink only one type of milk for a period, then switch to the other type, while the study collects information through the app. This research could help clarify whether low-fat or full-fat milk is better for heart and metabolic health.
