ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a medicine called crisaborole ointment can help improve vitiligo, a condition where patches of skin lose their color. The study will look at how well the medicine works when applied after a treatment called microneedling, which uses tiny needles to help the medicine absorb better. Participants will also receive light therapy sessions twice a week, which is a common treatment for vitiligo. Researchers want to see if this combined approach can help restore color to the skin and if the medicine is safe to use.
People who have a stable form of vitiligo that isn’t currently changing and who agree to join the study may be eligible. However, those with active skin problems, a tendency to form thick scars, infections, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot join. If selected, participants will visit the clinic every two weeks for three months to receive microneedling and apply the ointment, along with light therapy twice a week. They will be asked to report any side effects they notice during the treatment. This study is not yet recruiting but aims to find new ways to help people with vitiligo safely restore their skin color.
