ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying a tool called the Glasgow-Blatchford Score (GBS), which helps doctors predict how serious bleeding in the upper part of the digestive system might be. The study is focused on patients in Tunisia who come to the emergency room with bleeding that is not caused by injury. Because hospitals in Tunisia often admit all patients with this kind of bleeding for observation, the researchers want to see if the GBS can help identify which patients are at higher risk and need more urgent care, and which patients might be safely managed without a hospital stay.

Adults aged 18 and older who have non-injury related upper digestive tract bleeding may be eligible to join. Participants will have their health information collected when they arrive and will be followed for 30 days to see if they experience any problems like continued bleeding, need for treatments to stop bleeding, complications, or serious outcomes. The goal is to find out if this scoring system works well in Tunisia to help doctors make better decisions and possibly reduce unnecessary hospital stays. If you decide to join, you can expect to be monitored carefully, but participation involves no extra procedures beyond usual care.
