ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to help control pain after knee replacement surgery. Both methods involve numbing certain nerves around the knee to reduce pain and help patients move more easily after surgery. The study aims to see which method works better at managing pain, reducing the need for strong pain medicines like opioids, and lowering the body’s stress response after surgery. The researchers will also check how soon patients need pain relief after surgery and whether the numbing affects muscle movement.
Adults aged 18 to 75 who are having total knee replacement surgery and are in generally good health may be eligible to join. Participants will receive one of the two nerve block treatments during their surgery and will be closely monitored for pain levels, medication use, and overall recovery. People with certain health issues, like blood clotting problems, allergies to numbing medicine, or infections near the injection site, won’t be able to take part. This study could help improve pain relief after knee surgery and support faster recovery with fewer side effects.
