ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called HealthyWE, is focused on helping adults in Camden City, New Jersey, who are overweight or obese (with a body mass index, or BMI, over 25) to achieve a healthier weight and reduce pain. The program aims to support participants in managing their weight, improving their quality of life, and addressing mental health symptoms by encouraging physical activity and building confidence in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Since Camden has a high rate of adult obesity, this study also hopes to create a lasting community effort to support weight management and reduce related health problems.
Adults aged 19 and older who have a BMI over 25 and are able to be physically active may be eligible to join the study. People with certain limitations, such as significant physical or mental disabilities, memory problems, or diseases like Alzheimer’s, are not eligible. Participants can expect to take part in a personalized program designed to help them overcome common challenges like lack of time, safety concerns, or weather issues that often make exercising difficult. The study is currently recruiting volunteers and aims to help individuals build healthier habits that can improve both their body and mind.
