ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether special textured insoles can help improve balance, physical ability, and foot pressure in older adults who have knee osteoarthritis, a common joint condition that causes pain and stiffness in the knee. The study will compare two groups of participants: one group will use textured insoles, and the other will use flat insoles without texture. Both groups will wear their insoles daily for four weeks. Before and after this period, researchers will test balance, movement, and how pressure is distributed on the feet to see if the textured insoles make a difference.
To join the study, participants need to be between 65 and 75 years old, have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis affecting the inner part of the knee, and be able to walk without any help like a cane or walker. People with certain health issues such as neurological diseases, recent leg surgery, severe foot problems, or balance issues caused by inner ear problems won’t be able to take part. Those who join will be asked to wear the insoles during their daily activities and will complete simple tests measuring their balance and movement before and after the four weeks. This study aims to find out if textured insoles could be an easy and non-invasive way to help older adults with knee pain improve their stability and comfort.
