ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether educational videos can help people on hemodialysis better understand and manage their treatment. Researchers want to see if interactive videos—where patients answer questions and get feedback—are more helpful than regular, non-interactive videos or the usual education given at dialysis centers. They will look at whether these videos improve patients’ knowledge, help them stick to their treatment plans, and control weight changes between dialysis sessions, which is important for their health.
Adults aged 18 to 65 who have chronic kidney disease and are on hemodialysis may be eligible to join, as long as they can read, hear, and see well enough to watch and interact with the videos on their phone or another device. Participants will be randomly placed into one of three groups: one group will watch interactive videos, another will watch the same videos without interaction, and the last group will receive the standard education from their dialysis center. Everyone will watch about five hours of videos over several days, answer questions, join group discussions, and have their weight checked before and after dialysis to track fluid changes. The study will follow up with participants immediately after, and then one and three months later, to see how well the education helped them manage their care. This research aims to find better ways to support people on dialysis in understanding and following their treatment.
