ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the levels of three important vitamins—B12, folic acid, and vitamin D—in women who can have children, aged 18 to 49, living in Herzegovina. The study wants to find out if the current guidelines for taking these vitamins during pregnancy and before getting pregnant actually match the needs of women in this area. By checking their blood levels, researchers hope to provide better advice on how much of these nutrients women should take to stay healthy and support a healthy pregnancy.
Women between 18 and 49 years old who have not taken vitamin B12, folic acid, or vitamin D supplements in the last three months and who don’t have certain health conditions like diabetes, epilepsy, cancer, or inflammatory bowel disease can take part. Participants will give consent and have their blood tested to measure vitamin levels. This study is being done at the University of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and if you join, you can help improve health recommendations for women in your community. The study is currently recruiting participants and will run from December 2024 to December 2025.
