ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether adding a moisturizing ingredient called hyaluronic acid (HA) to a common acne treatment, adapalene gel, can help improve results and reduce skin irritation in people with mild to moderate acne. Adapalene is often effective but can cause dryness, redness, and stinging, which sometimes makes people stop using it. The researchers want to see if combining adapalene with HA can not only clear acne better but also make the skin feel more comfortable and hydrated.
People who have mild to moderate acne and haven’t used similar acne treatments in the last three months may be able to join. The study will last about 8 weeks, during which participants will use either the adapalene gel alone or with the added HA. Doctors will check how much the acne improves, how much irritation happens, and how well the skin stays moisturized. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, those with severe acne, or anyone allergic to the treatments won’t be able to participate. If you join, you’ll give informed consent, meaning you’ll be fully informed about the study and agree to take part. The goal is to find a better, gentler way to treat acne that many teens and young adults experience.
