ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether there is a difference in how often wound infections happen after two types of gallbladder surgery: open cholecystectomy (a traditional surgery with a larger cut) and laparoscopic cholecystectomy (a less invasive surgery using small cuts and a camera). The study focuses on adults aged 18 to 65 who have symptoms from gallstones and are scheduled to have one of these surgeries.
If you join this study, you will have one of these surgeries and then be asked to come back for a follow-up visit about one week later. During this visit, the doctor will check your surgical wound for signs of infection, such as redness, pain, or cloudy discharge. The study excludes people with certain health issues like diabetes, immune system problems, or pregnancy to keep the results clear. The goal is to find out which surgery has fewer wound infections, helping doctors and patients make better decisions about gallbladder treatment.
