ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a type of anesthesia given through an IV (a vein) for patients having brain surgery called a craniotomy, which is done to remove brain tumors. The goal is to find the best way to keep the brain well cared for during surgery, help the brain stay relaxed, allow patients to wake up quickly afterward for important neurological checks, and reduce any problems around the time of surgery.
People who might be eligible for this study are adults in good overall health (based on a common health rating system), with a body weight within a certain range, who are scheduled for a planned brain tumor surgery expected to last less than four hours. Patients who have unstable heart or blood pressure problems, serious liver or kidney disease, chronic use of strong pain medicines, or allergies to the anesthesia drugs won’t be able to join. If you participate, you can expect to receive anesthesia through an IV during your surgery, and the medical team will carefully monitor how this affects your recovery and brain health. This study is not yet open for enrollment but aims to improve anesthesia care for brain surgery patients in the future.
