ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the types of blood groups (specifically the ABO and Rh systems) found in people diagnosed with acute leukemia, which includes two main types called acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). The researchers want to see if certain blood groups are more common in patients with these kinds of leukemia by reviewing past medical records.
To be part of this study, patients need to have a new diagnosis of acute leukemia confirmed between 2022 and 2025, and their blood group information must be available. They must have been treated at or referred to the South Egypt Cancer Institute at Assiut University. People with other cancers, ongoing chronic illnesses, or who had blood transfusions before their leukemia diagnosis won’t be included. Since this study looks back at existing records, participants won’t need to undergo new tests or treatments, but their medical information will be reviewed to help doctors better understand any link between blood groups and leukemia.
